Gancoins

Gancoins is a hypothetical auction platform for digitally generated artworks. The project deals with the transformation of artworks into pure speculative objects.

Excerpt from the website:
"Gancoin stands for a new currency in which banknotes are replaced by works of art. The works are generated by our in-house algorithm, based on real art market prices. On the website it is possible to auction, sell and perform the value analysis.

The offered pictures were generated by our in-house neuronal network. We use a Generative Adversarial Network, which creates new images similar to the images the network was trained on. As a training data set we use images of several thousand works of art sold. This is based on auction results from various art auction houses in recent years. Our technology allows us to retain the visual characteristics of the individual price categories and at the same time sell unique pieces."
